friday fun finds: great summer reads

i don't know about you, but summer is the time when i really have the chance to read. nothing too deep......but a great, easy, make-you-think kind of book. if you are looking for a new read for this summer i am sure that you will find one below.

what are some of your favorite reads? my kindle needs a few more books on it for this summer and i would *love* your suggestions!

The Hunger Games

this is the first book of three. if you haven't read them yet, what are you waiting for? you will be hooked.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

this is a series of three books too. so good. i am on the second book now. mildly obsessed.

The 19th Wife: A Novel

if you like "big love", then this is the book for you. fascinating.

The Madonnas of Leningrad: A Novel

a beautiful story of war and art. i can't believe that is was not a new york times bestseller. read it.

Outlander (20th Anniversary Edition): A Novel

i thought that i wouldn't like this book upon reading the description......but i was wrong. you will get sucked in. it is the first book of many in the series.

The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel

i actually haven't read this yet, but it is loaded on my kindle to read next. who else is going to read it with me?

Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet

i am a sucker for a good historical fiction book. this won't disappoint.

Water for Elephants: A Novel

there has now been a movie made, but the book is sooooo much better. (isn't that always the case?!)

Shantaram: A Novel

are you in a book club? i am and this is our selection to read over the summer. can't say that i would have picked it out on my own to read, but i am looking forward to it..... sometimes that is when you find the best books!

The Help

you will laugh and cry. so very good. read it before the movie comes out. you won't regret it. (nellie is reading it for her book club as we speak).

  1. You have some great ones on your list! I LOVED Cutting for Stone. Best book I've read in a long, long time.
